  • Minimum age: you must be at least 24 years old to rent till 500 cc models, and at least 28 years old to rent larger than 500 cc models.
  • Full riding license: you must have held a full riding license* for at least 2 years at the time of rental. (* equivalent to what is known in Europe as “class A”)
  • International Driver’s Permit, together with your national license, if the latter has not been issued in the E.U.
  • 1 VISA or MasterCard credit card for damage deposit: you will need to provide one payment card to rent a motorcycle. There will be an authorization of your card at the time of rental.
    The required amount for each motorcycle model are:
    1300GS: 1500€,  1250GS: 1500€,  900XR:1500 €,850GS:1500 €,  750GS:1500 €, Yamaha T7 1500€,  310GS:1000 €, Benelli TRK 502 1000 €, Can-am Spyder-Ryker 1500€.
  • Full damage/theft coverage insurance means that:
    If the lessor chooses the full insurance coverage by paying the amount of 20 euros  per rental day, this means that in case the damage, the lessor  will be covered beyond the amount of the deposit.

Your use of the rented motorcycle and your responsibilities as a renter and rider, are, which is the document that you are required to sign before you ride.

MotoTravelGreece reserve the right to modify the current Terms & Conditions of the Rental Procedure at any time without prior notice.

Please carefully read and agree to the following terms and conditions before you rent one of our motorcycles.

  1. Rental Operator and the Contract.

All motorcycle rentals are operated by Mototravelgreece Private Company, Tsamadou 40,10683, Athens, Greece. (“MotoTravelGreece”, “Company”, “us”, “we”).

The Participants(s) is/are the person(s) listed on the MotoTravelGreece booking form or the person(s) requesting a rental (“Participant(s)”, “You”).

  1. Changes of Rental Verbal Changes.

Variation of the terms of this rental procedure is only valid if done so in writing and confirmed by both the Participant(s) and an authorized representative of MotoTravelGreece.

  1. Booking

3.1. By completing a rental booking, by using the on-line booking form or by sending an email, or by signing and posting/ faxing a booking request, you agree and accept these Terms and Conditions as a binding contract between MotoTravelGreece and You.
3.2. Once your request is received by MotoTravelGreece, we will send You a written reply (via post, fax or email) of availability that includes the services in detail and the amount to be paid.
3.3. You have to make the deposit payment as described in the previous communication (3.2). Once we verify with our bank that the deposit payment has been received, we will send you a written reservation confirmation by email or post/fax of your booking and a contract (“Rental Agreement”/ “Agreement”) is then made between MotoTravelGreece and the Participant(s).
3.4. The final prerequisite for the Participant(s) is the signed Rental Agreement (see chapter B further below) for the use of motorcycles provided by Mototravelgreece. The rental agreement also contains a liability release waiver and is signed prior we deliver to you the motorcycle.
3.5. MotoTravelGreece reserves the right to decline any booking at their discretion.

  1. Reservation Deposit & Payments

4.1. Payments may be made by one of the following ways:

  • Electronic bank transfer. For electronic transfer, we will notify the Participant(s) of our bank details separately.
  • Our online card payments are handled by Viva wallet (you don’t need a Viva wallet account!).
  • Cash at the company’s premises.

4.2. The deposit required to secure your booking is equal to 30% of the rental value.

4.3. MotoTravelGreece has absolutely no obligation to hold the requested motorcycle(s) until the deposit is confirmed. You should not consider that you have reserved a motorcycle unless we send you a written confirmation of your reservation.

4.4. The remaining balance of the rental is due and payable with the Participant(s) arrival, during the motorcycle hand-over.

  1. Pricing

5.1. Rental rates quoted by MotoTravelGreece on our website or printed materials, are those in effect at time of writing. MotoTravelGreece shall communicate any rental rate increase to Participants at least 20 days prior to the rental.

5.2. Only the items specifically listed in the “What’s Included” on our website and in our brochures are included in the price. Therefore, for clarity, the following items are not part of the price and are an additional cost to the Participant(s), and do not form part of the contract:

  • Personal travel, accident and medical insurance,
  • Personal documentation (e.g. passport, visas if required), fuel, fines, tolls
  • Additional transportation of you or for the motorcycle en route where the Participant or the motorcycle cannot continue beyond the short and temporary assistance offered by MotoTravelGreece.
  • Any other item not specifically included in the price.
  1. Travel Insurance
    6.1. MotoTravelGreece does not offer travel insurance of any kind. Mototravelgreece recommends that you take out adequate travel insurance, including cover for medical treatment, accidents and repatriation, holiday cancellation and curtailment.

6.2. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, MotoTravelGreece will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising.

  1. Cancellation Policy: Cancellation by Participant

7.1. Should the Participant(s) have to cancel the rental reservation we must receive notice in writing (email or fax)

7.2. If the Participant(s) cancels the reservation between 90 days and 45 days prior to rental, MotoTravelGreece retains 30% of the reservation deposit plus 12 euros per refunding transaction, as cancellation fees.

7.3. If the Participant(s) cancels the reservation between 44 days and 30 days prior to rental, MotoTravelGreece retains 50% of the reservation deposit plus 12 euros per refunding transaction, as cancellation fees.

7.4 If the Participant(s) cancels the agreement less than 29 days prior to rental, Mototravelgreece retains 100% of the deposit already paid and no refund is made. No exception to this policy can be made.

7.5. Requests by the Participant(s) to change the booking dates, or motorcycles, or duration of rental period already booked, are considered and handled as a cancellation and the cancellation fees of clauses 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4 apply. The Participant(s) must re-initiate the reservation procedure.

7.6. There shall be no pro rata refunds should the bike be returned early before the end of the hire period irrespective of the circumstances that facilitated an early return.

7.7. There shall be no refunds in case the Participant(s) do not show at the agreed rental period start.

7.8. We strongly recommend that you obtain trip cancellation insurance from an insurance company.

Temporary Update of Cancellation Policy related to COVID 19
This amendment will stay in effect until further notice.
Rentals :
7.1.: If you are forced to cancel because of : travel bans related to COVID19 imposed by governments and/or authorities, cancelled flights related to COVID19, lockdowns etc, we will refund your reservation deposit in full. All that we ask is that you notify us at least 48 hours prior to your intended arrival date.

  • 7.2. You accept and acknowledge that the refund may be delayed for a few days up to 2 or 3 weeks. This is necessary in order to maintain a sustainable cash flow for our business.
  • 7.3. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your intended arrival, the refund of your deposit may be delayed for up to 1 month.
  • 7.4. For any case of cancellation related to COVID19, we ask that you send us via email proof of the cancellation that is directly related to the COVID19 conditions (for example: an announcement of cancellation of your flights, together with copies of your air tickets)
  • 7.5. Without providing proof that you are forced to cancel because of COVID19 related restrictions, MotoTravelGreece reserves the right not to issue a refund. In such case, we do offer you the option of a Future Rental Credit
  • 7.6. A Future Rental Credit can be used for a future rental for up to 2 years from the time of cancellation. This Future Rental Credit is non-refundable but you may transfer it to another person. It may be applied to any new or existing booking. The new future booking will be accepted by MotoTravelGreece in the basis of motorcycle availability.
  • 7.7. Cancellations received that are not related to COVID19 restrictions are handled as per our regular Cancellation Policy, listed below.
  1. Cancellations by MotoTravelGreece

8.1. We reserve the right to cancel any reservation due to unforeseen-able conditions. Should that occur, the Participant(s) options are:

  • transfer to an alternative rental period to your satisfaction
  • transfer to an alternative motorcycle model, which may include additional payment or partial refund
  • a full refund of monies paid.

8.2. If a rental reservation is cancelled by MotoTravelGreece, the Company will not be liable for additional costs or losses incurred by Participant(s) due to the cancellation of the rental. This includes, but is not limited to, the cost of prepaid airline tickets, hotel reservations.
8.3. MotoTravelGreece is not liable to make refunds once rental commences regardless of the reason for Participant(s) being unable to complete the rental period.
8.4. MotoTravelGreece cannot be made liable for unpleasant or unsuitable weather conditions and no refunds are made for such conditions.

  1. Damage Deposit

9.1. A security bond (“damage deposit”) is required at time of rental collection. The Participant(s) must ensure that the required amount will be available in their credit for the duration of the rental period.
9.2 For rentals of duration up to 14 days, the damage deposit is held by authorizing a valid credit card into the MotoTravelGreece account. Authorizing a card means that the required amount is not charged but it remains reserved from your credit.
For rentals of duration more than 15 days, we cannot authorize a card so we need to charge the required amount.
9.3. Only VISA and MASTERCARD credit cards can be used for the authorization. Debit cards maybe rejected. If you want to use debit card for the deposit, please consult with your bank before making the trip. It is your bank’s regulations that will show if your debit card can be used for “authorization” purposes. ”Pre-paid” cards are not accepted for authorization.
9.4. The authorization will be fully released (or refunded in case of 15+ days rental), upon the successful inspection of the undamaged motorcycle when it is returned.

If the motorcycle cannot be thoroughly inspected at the time or place of its return, MotoTravelGreece reserve the right to further withhold the damage deposit until the inspection of the motorcycle is completed and deemed successful.

If the motorcycle is returned after sunset, the inspection must be carried out during the next day.
If the motorcycle is returned dirty enough so that it is deemed to require a cleaning process, no deposit will be released until the motorcycle is thoroughly washed and cleaned so that it can be properly inspected. It is understood that washing and cleaning cannot take place at the time of the delivery.
9.5. The completion of the release of authorization or of the refund, is a procedure carried out by the bank, and the duration of this procedure is in no way controlled by MotoTravelGreece.
9.6. The amount of the required damage deposit varies per motorcycle model.
9.7. In the event that You fail to present a valid credit card or if there is lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card, MotoTravelGreece reserve the right to refuse to provide the motorcycle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed.
DAMAGE
1. The lessee shall restore in full any damage that may occur to the motorcycle at any point thereof during the term of the lease, arising from any cause and with prior notice to and acceptance by our company and only to workshops authorized by the company, irrespective of any guarantee paid or the applicable insurance coverage. As regards the on-site visit by a technician during the term of the lease, there is an additional cost to be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition, for the time after the occurrence of the accident, during which the motorcycle remains idle due to repair, the customer shall incur the fixed daily cost of 50 euros for as long as the motorcycle is repaired due to the customer’s fault.
2. If the lessee fails to deliver on time or abandons the motorcycle, the lessee shall be liable for the recovery of any direct and consequential loss to the company, incur the costs of finding the motorcycle, and any costs for finding and transporting the motorcycle to the company’s registered office, as well as the necessary costs that will be required for court expenses and legal fees and, in addition, in the event of failure to find it or theft, the purchase price of the motorcycle.
3. In the above cases, the lessee shall compensate the lessor in full, regardless of the insurance cover. If the insurance company compensates the lessor in full of the damage/theft it has suffered, the lessor undertakes to return to the lessee the amount paid by the lessee if the damage has been covered in its entirety, otherwise the lessee has to pay damages to the company for any difference.
The validity of the insurance ceases to apply if the vehicle is driven by a driver other than the one stated in the policy, and/or the motorcycle is inappropriately used for the transportation of heavy or dirty objects or any other dangerous objects (weapons, drugs, inflammable materials, etc), the transportation of which is strictly prohibited by the Greek law, or objects that could put at risk the safety of the motorcycle or its passengers, and/or the motorcycle is used outside of the Greek borders without previous written approval by the Company, and/or the motorcycle is used/driv- en in violation of the Greek Road Traffic Code and the legislation in force, and/or the driver/passenger is not wearing a suitable helmet, and/or the driver is detected by the authorities with alcohol levels higher than the permitted limit and/or is found driving under the influence of prohibited substances or drugs and/or the lessee has exceeded the permitted speed limits. The speed limit is also detected by the official data from the speed recorder of the tracking system installed on the motorcycles. In these cases, all damages likely to be caused to the vehicle shall be borne by the lessee.
Damages caused to the motorcycle by driving outside the asphalt road network shall be borne by the lessee unless an express lease is in place for driving on dirt roads. Damages caused to the motorcycle by driving on a track shall not be covered by the insurance and shall be borne by the lessee in their entirety. Track driving shall be expressly prohibited.
GPS TRACKING SYSTEM
All motorcycles are equipped with an anti-theft satellite positioning system. Mototravelgreece check your position only in case of emergency.

  1. Motorcycles Availability

10.1. MotoTravelGreece will attempt to provide You with the model of motorcycle initially confirmed. If after having confirmed the model of motorcycle requested, MotoTravelGreece finds that it is necessary to substitute a different model, we will notify you.

If You do not wish to accept the proposed substitution, you may cancel the rental without penalty and the deposit will be refunded.

10.2. Unexpected and uncontrollable situations may require last minute substitution of a motorcycle including after the rental period has begun.

This may include, but is not limited to, mechanical failure, collision, damage and theft before the delivery of the motorcycle to the Participant. In this circumstance MotoTravelGreece reserves the right to substitute the type of motorcycle confirmed.

Should Mototravelgreece not be able to replace a motorcycle with the confirmed type or similar, a prorated refund for the difference in models, if any, will be refunded to the Participant(s).

  1. Participant(s) minimum requirements

11.1. Minimum age: You must be at least 24 years old to rent up to 500 cc models, and at least 28 years old to rent larger than 500 cc models.

11.2 Full riding license: you must have held a full riding license* for at least 2 years at the time of rental. (* equivalent to what is known in Europe as “class A = unrestricted displacement and power”)

11.3. You must provide to MotoTravelGreece at the time of motorcycle pick up the following documents, which must be current and valid:

  • Passport
  • Driving (Riding) license as mentioned in 11.2 above.
  • Non-EU citizens must have an International Driving Permit.

11.4. Participant(s) who are forced to curtail their participation due to incorrect, lack of, or loss of necessary documents will not be refunded.

  1. Our Responsibilities

12.1. MotoTravelGreece is not responsible for any accidents.

It is agreed and understood that neither MotoTravelGreece nor its agents are the guardians of any customer safety and that we, individually or collectively, cannot be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the rental which might result in injury, death or other damage to the customer, his property or his family heirs or assigns.

12.2. Motorcycle will begin the rental period with new or near new consumables and with a full fuel tank.
13. Force Majeure
In the event of Force Majeure refunds or compensation payments cannot be made, nor can MotoTravelGreece and any of their staff be held liable.
Force Majeure means any unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our normal control, which the consequences of could not have been avoided even when exercising all due care. Such circumstances or events include, but are not limited to, war, or threat of war, riot, civil unrest, industrial disputes or strikes, unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports, terrorist activity, natural disasters, industrial disasters, fire, theft, flooding and adverse weather conditions.
14. Accuracy, Printing, Typing, Calculation errors and Omissions

We endeavor to ensure that all the information and prices both on our website and in our brochures are accurate, however changes and errors might occur and we reserve the right to correct prices and other details in such circumstances.
15. Complaints
Should a participant feel that MotoTravelGreece have not met their obligations it should first be brought to the attention of a representative of MotoTravelGreece by phone, if during a rental period, so that corrective action can be taken if possible. If however, the participant is not completely satisfied any further comments should be put in writing, within 14 days of your return, specifying the rental period and nature of the complaint to: info@mototravelgreece.com
Your complaint will be investigated, and responded to in the first instance within 14 days by email. Failure to follow the procedure set out in this clause may affect ours and the applicable supplier’s ability to investigate your complaint, and will affect your rights under this contract.
16. Jurisdiction
The contract and all matters arising from it are subject to Greek law and the jurisdiction of the Greek courts. In the event that any of the provisions of this contract will be determined by any court to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable to any extent then such provision will to that extent be severed from the remaining provisions of the contract, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.

Acceptance of Tour Terms and Conditions

I understand that I will be required to sign a Release and Waiver Form before I can participate in a MototravelGreece Tour. I have read and accepted the terms of conditions of MototravelGreece. I am aware that motorcycling can be dangerous. I am aware that traffic conditions, roads, weather and other conditions as well as the actions of other members of the trip can influence the risks. I agree to accept those risks. I am an experienced responsible and healthy motorcyclist with a valid motorcycle driver licence. As a passenger I am aware of the potential dangers of motorcycling. I further agree and understand that the owners, operators and agents of this trip, including MototravelGreece, are not the guardians of my safety. They, individually or collectively, cannot be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the operation of my participation in the trip which might result in injury, death or other damage to me, my property or my family heirs or assigns.
